Chaos, Peace and Coffee
Short newsletter this week but if you read to the bottom, I have a treat for you
Welcome to Notes from Erin, a newsletter about all things from music, reading to productivity. I’m glad you’re here - subscribe below if you got this email from social media or a friend.
This week is going to be a short one. I planned to write a cute little welcome to 2021 newsletter but this week has been a shit show. I’m mourning the loss of one of my favorite cousins while watching terrorism occur in our backyard with what happened yesterday in D.C. It was exhausting, sad and something that should have never happened or been tolerated. The audacity of those people who try so hard to show support for Trump - a person who told them to go home after essentially giving them a call to arms to come. Just odd times. I am praying for all of us, and for our country. We have 13 days left of Trump which means 13 days to be alert, educated, and to stay prayed up.
I would like to say on a positive note Georgia came out and showed up in the vote yesterday. Now, we have two new Democrats in the Senate, Raphael Warnock, and my boo Jon Ossoff. I know it’s vain that I always refer to Jon as my boo, but he’s so cute and I have eyes so here we are.
I’ll be back next week with something cute and playful, but until then - the first five people to reply to this message, I will treat you to coffee. Hit me up.
Here are a few things I thought were worth sharing this week:
Black Lives Matter Criticize Police Response to Trump Mob There definitely was a double standard in the way the protests were handled yesterday and the way they were handled during the Black Lives Matter protests.
I am deeply troubled by the double standard we saw in the federal response to this attack. We saw several federal law enforcement agencies crack down on nonviolent Black Lives Matter protesters with tear gas, flash bangs, and rubber bullets at Lafayette Square. Meanwhile, the violent extremists who rushed the Capitol today met little resistance. It is a disturbing contrast that we must reckon with once this crisis is over. / Janeese Lewis George, DC Council Member
Experts: Capitol riot product of years of hateful rhetoric Words coming from the president matter. Telling your gang of bigots things like “stand by and stand back” should never be something that comes from your mouth and/or your Twitter fingers.
Clubhouse Makes Way for Influencers Yesterday I was in a Facebook Group for Creatives and people were mentioning how they went on Reddit to try to buy Clubhouse invites. The most bizarre thing to me - I have two invites currently however if anyone needs one.
Why Vice is Trying to Build a Community—on OnlyFans Very interesting. What are your thoughts on this?
That’s it for this week.
Happy 2021 bb - praying for you and thank you for preaching truth knowledge and love!
