Shout-out to the ladies
We are living through the times of corona, but I wanted to acknowledge what an amazing day today is: it’s my dad’s birthday - one of the gems of my life, and one of the greatest people I know.
My dad is awesome, particularly, why your girl is too. He’s smart and is always putting me on game. Some of my favorite dad quotables are the following:
“Mareesa, put Erin on the phone” said angrily as we forgot to check in with our parents when we arrived in Mexico.
“Money is only here to fuel the experience.”
“I’m an evolutionist. I get better everyday.”
Yep, he’s a gem. Much of my personality is his - especially my facial expressions. He is the person who got me into traveling, using chopsticks, speaking up for what I believe in, being kind to everyone and much more. Shout out to him - he actually reads this newsletter, so this isn’t the equivalent of a random Instagram shoutout to your grandma who isn’t really on there.
Not shade, just saying.
But in other newsletter business, there’s so much going on right now, and I know I’m not alone when I say I’m anxious and exhausted - still cute - but really just over it. So instead of the normal blurb, here’s a random list of everything that has/will continue to bring me joy during the uncertainty of the days to come.
If you know me, you know I love art. I’m always finding museums to check out, or when I was home, dragging my friends to them (I even got stuck in the elevator at the deYoung for over an hour. Let me tell you, I left out of their with frizzy edges and an over appreciation of air and the ground). That being said, so excited for this and my virtual date night with my love.
Was supposed to start a new book, but since I’m going a little stir-crazy, I thought it would be interesting to read one of my favorites, Elizabeth Gilbert’s Eat, Pray, Love again.
Have you done a Netflix Party yet?
I keep getting sucked into these Tiny Home tours, and these apartment tours on Apartment Therapy.
Loved this Soulection playlist
I'm going to send another one of these out next week, with more links.
Please be safe,
XOXO Erin
