A Few Little Things
Happy early Thanksgiving !
What are you thankful for this year? I have a few things including my family, my friends, my boyfriend, and the journey a few of my friend's are on like motherhood and marriage. I'm thankful to be on their journeys. I'm also thankful for my curiosity, my eagerness and my edges.
Extremely thankful for my edges especially with all the braid and protective styles I've been trying throughout the year. I'm also thankful for you as well and that you're subscribed to my little weekly labor of love.
That being said, here are some of my recommendations for the week:
Just finished reading Robyn Crawford’s “A Song For You,” about her life with Whitney Houston. Being that I’m a kid of Whitney so to speak, I always knew of Robyn but was also skeptical about this book. However, I loved it. I read it in two days because I couldn’t put it down. Granted I’m not sure if everything there is true since Whitney is gone, but it seems legit. Would definitely recommend.
Do you like Wine? Subscribe to my pal Chasity’s newsletter Wine with Chas. I’ve learned many things from the newsletter including most recently that champagne and fries go together.
Tony Toni Tone’s discography has aged beautifully. Listening to them over the week inspired me to create my new playlist, “Cat Daddy Vibes.” For all the playas from the Himalayas.
You know I geek out about organization and with that, I loved listening to the Lessons Learned with Komal podcast episode “My Year Planning Process.” I learned a lot of helpful tips that I plan to do over the next few weeks including the narrowing things down from my brain dump.
I’ve really been into the reporting that New York Times “The Daily” podcast has been doing. I learned more about the rise and fall of WeWork – did you that 4,000 people will be getting laid off? I’ve also been learning more about the democratic presidential nominees and now, they are starting a mini-series on the candidates—here’s the first one with Pete Buttigieg. Do you know who you’re voting for? I’m still currently crip walking through confusion.
Rapsody!!!!! That’s it. That’s the word – watch this video and see what I mean.
Kneading Dough podcast episodes with Candace Parker and Jalen Rose.
I started watching Singapore Social on Netflix over the weekend, and I'm obsessed. I've binged the whole first season, and now I'm watching flights to Singapore. If you have any great suggestions there let me know.
