A Few Little Things
Can you believe that next week is Thanksgiving? The year has come and gone so fast. There’s still time to level set and end the year on a high note. Hopefully some of my recommendations this week put some things into perspective.
I’d also like to just say, if you know me, you know I grew up on Whitney Houston and that my mom stanned over her for my whole childhood. I was a little apprehensive about Robyn Crawford and the release of her new book A Song for Me, for multiple reasons. First, it talks about her relationship with Whitney Houston and there’s not way to truly validate what she wrote. Secondly, why now? However, after watching her interview on Wendy Williams, and reading this interview with my new wifed up girl crush Leah Waithe, I decided to give the book a read and I’m hooked. I will tell you next week my overall thoughts.
Here are my recommendations for the week:
Angelica Rahe’s new song “Como Yo.” And here's the video for the song as well.
Hello Monday podcast episode “Quitting Google.” This episode was very good, and stressed the importance of now letting your coworkers you love keep you in a place professionally that you don’t want to be in.
Hype Williams Instagram is everything.
Sign me up for 5-Hour Workdays, and 4-Day Workweeks, please.
Can’t wait for Season 1 of Harmonize Podcast with John Legend and Pusha T.
To celebrate the 15th Anniversary of his album Food, Spin re-released their profile of MF Doom. Also, listen to my favorite song from the album “Hoe Cakes,” and keep your hoes in check (lyrics from song).
Listen to my friend Rashid’s Playlist. It’s epic and so many gems are on here.
Loved hearing Ellevest CEO Sallie Krawcheck’s background and story on Second Life podcast.
The Queen and Slim Soundtrack is EVERYTHING. I literally CAN’T WAIT FOR THIS MOVIE.
