End of the month...
Do you ever have those weeks where everything is throwing you off track, or making you annoyed?
Well, that's me this week. Perhaps it's because I stopped using a planner or that my emotions have been a little out of whack this week, but I'm extremely thankful for the weekend and hope that I can get my attitude/emotions in check.
I'm going to use this Game of Thrones Wine (I don't watch but got as a gift) and Brene Brown's new Netflix special to get me there. Nonetheless, I hope this week was better for you. Below are some of my favorite reads and listens for the week.
As always, don't forget to listen to my two Spotify Playlists :
Spring Mood / Coffee Shop Flow
Something that did make me very happy this week is that my London favorite, Sasha Keable, released her new EP The Man today. I've mentioned her a few times and have loved her since I heard her on Disclosures' "Voices." She released two really good EP's but now, you can only find them on YouTube or if you're across the pond. Nonetheless YAY Sasha!
I'm reading a new book, "The Woman in The Window" by A.J. Finn and it's a nail biter for sure. I was reading on the train and had to clutch my pearls a few time. I will tell you more about it next week, but you should read it to. If you're on a budget--like me, it's on sale at Target for $13.
I love a good scam, this you know if you read the newsletter. I've been obsessed with the fake Saudi Prince, and Elizabeth Holmes. Based on my zodiac sign, if I were a scammer, I would be Anna Delvey.
Back in the day, I used to be a huge Kanye West fan. I used to "rap" his lyrics in AOL Chatrooms to gain street cred around the interwebs. I used to have quotes of him all of my Myspace and Blackplanet page, and stuff but man I'll be honest, he weirds me out now. As a lady of the cloth, I don't ever judge anyone and their spirituality and attitudes towards religion, but let's be honest Kanye West's Sunday Service is odd AF. It feels like a cult for the Instagram influencers and faux celebrities to attend (cc: Kardashians, Katy Perry). It's very odd. He hosted a service at Coachella which increased the WTF feels for me, however, his fascination with religion has always kind of weirded me out. I remember going to the Yeezus tour and feeling like I need to repent my soul after. This article perfectly sums up my feelings.
How Lizzo conqured her fears and found her best self with her new album Cuz I Love You. I love this album, in particular “Soulmate and “Tempo” featuring Missy which will be my songs of the year, and the Instagram captions for spring/summer.
I really enjoy Ann Friedman, and love this new podcast series, “Going Through It” that she hosts for Mailchimp with various entrepreneurs/creators about when to quit and when to keep going.
This week, I listened to some really good podcasts--here are all the ones I listened to this week that I think you should too:
