No more stuff in my Pocket
It's spring time which means it's the perfect time for cleaning.
Whether you're cleaning out things, winter clothes, or people from out of your orbit, make sure you're Marie Kondo-ing your life. Can I also be honest, I'm over the whole Marie Kondo thing. People are using it to describe everything:
Marie Kondo Your LinkedIn
Marie Kondo Your Twitter
Did you Marie Kondo your closet?
Like we get it fam, we understand. Sometimes I think to myself, and giggle slightly, that Marie Kondo is the new Iyanla Vanzant.
Nonetheless, happy Friday ! I hope you had a great week. My week was pretty good as I've been completely full from a great visit with one of my nearest and dearest. This weekend, I plan to relax, clean, and prepare for Beyonce Wednesday. I will not however be watching Game of Thrones, sorry, not really sorry.
Enjoy the music, and reads down below and I'll see you next week.
XOXO,
Erin

CURRENTLY LISTENING & WATCHING:
This week's picks are a mix of things I've been listening to from music to podcasts, as well as some videos that I've been watching that I think you should too.
First, I know I'm not the only person who thought that Lil Nas X, was a term of endearment for the rapper Nas. Well, after reading that Lil Nas X's debut single "Old Town Road" is #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, I thought I'd listen to the song "Old Town Road" and I actually like it. I guess there's some controversy here because he was initially removed from Billboard's country chart because his song didn't embrace enough elements of today's country music. Interesting. This other song he's featured on, "Sonic Shit" has a completely different vibe. It makes me want to do an odd hybrid of flexing, but also sitting down to play Super Mario or something.
My boo Amber Mark is back with "Mixer" which is a total vibe. I love Amber--which is showed with her being my most played artist of 2018 because I played the heck out of "Love Me Right" which is still one of my most favorite songs. That being said, the breakdown/bridge in "Mixer" is love. This song also gives me Jamiroquai vibes for whatever reason. It makes me want to wear gold sparkle pants and a big phony, pony that's super wavy and full and just walk down the street spinning or something odd. Don't you love that whole visual?
My other boo Sasha Keable finally released the video for her single "Treat Me Like I'm All Yours" and I love how simple it is. One of the best elements of this song is how soulful her voice is, and the simplicity of the video doesn't distract from that. Big K.R.I.T also released the video for "Energy" and I love it so much. It's beautiful. I love the imagery, and it really pulls the song together for me.
Three other videos I'm loving this week:
The cast of Little of Angie Martinez: here
Refinery 29's Sweet Digs: What $3,600 Will Get You in New Jersey: here
Loving a Black Woman Feels like a Privilege: here
Additionally, last week I mentioned this week I would be sharing a few playlists this week so here they are.
CURRENTLY READING:
I am still reading two books: The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen and Reshma Saujani's Brave, Not Perfect: Fear Less, Fail More and Live Bolder. I took a slight break over the week, but will hopefully finish them both this weekend--however, I can't say Brave is tickling my fancy.
What are you reading ? Follow me on Goodreads if you're there so we can keep up-to-date with our book adventures. Also, if you've read anything really good recently, please let me know so I can add to my list.
In other reading news, of course, I've had some pretty great reads this week about stats associated with gender pay gaps, why kids aren't to blame for damaging the careers of women and how India Arie's album Acoustic Soul would be very successful in our current climate.
Here are a few of the other articles I read this week:
