Don't you miss GOOD Friday's?
I've been thirty for six days, and so far, it's been liberating. I feel a lot smarter, wiser, sharper, and sexier. Granted, that's dramatic because I feel the same as I did last week, but I know it's coming. I started working out----------yeah, that's all I have to say about that but it's something I hope to keep up because as the cliche says, your body is your temple, and I definitely have a beautiful temple, but it could be much stronger, yah know ?
Initially, I thought that this week I would be writing glowing reviews of the new albums from one of my favorite singers Amerie, however, I dislike both so won't be doing that. Instead, I am doing a little bit of a mash up this week with music, and podcasts. What are you listening to this week? Also, if you listened to the Amerie album's what was your opinion? I know I'm not the only person who heard outdated Garageband, or mid-car crash vibes.
Stream: Summer Walker - Last Day of Summer
I was distracted with my birthday last week and forgot to share the new album from Summer Walker, but I love, love, love, love this album. I've been following Summer for awhile ever since I heard "Girls Need Love" and my favorite, "CPR" and her album doesn't disappoint. I literally can listen to this album from start to finish, and feel like I can relate to the lyrics she sings.

Stream: Marvin Jay x David Begun
What's better than Marvin Gaye or J.Dilla? Mashing the two together. That's what David Begun did with this new project. Pretty solid listen--even though I keep wanting to rap the songs, or two-step at my desk especially at the 9:00 mark--"Sexual Healing" meets Common ft. Slum Village "Thelonius"--literally my favorite song from Like Water for Chocolate (right?).

Podcast: Gladiator: Aaron Hernandez and Football Inc.
For some reason, I've always been overly fascinated with the tragic saga that was Aaron Hernandez. Although I'm not much of a football fan, I remember following the arrest of Aaron, his time in jail to eventually his suicide in jail. There's been several shows about his life--one I watched a few months ago with my dad (I need to find the name) was was interesting, but now there's a podcast centered around his life.

Podcast: Slow Burn [ Bill Clinton ]
While I was back home for a conference a few weeks ago, my VP told me about some of his favorite podcast. Here's the synopsis: "On Slow Burn, Leon Neyfakh excavates the strange subplots and forgotten characters of recent political history--and finds surprising parallels to the present. Season 1 captured what it was like to live through Watergate; Season 2 does the same with the saga of Bill Clinton's Impeachment.
