Don't you miss GOOD Friday's?
Hi ,
Is it just me or did Kavanaguh's 38 years of planners and journals remind you of the Binder full of women? Such an odd and annoying defense, and the crying was absolutely exhausting. During the hearings, I had a group chat with my friends, my parents, my grandma and an open dialogue on Twitter but yes, I have multiple thoughts in my mind.
First, just because you don't put sexually assaulting someone in your planner doesn't mean you didn't do it. Come on fam, what's the correlation? Sexual assault isn't like going to football practice, or winning an award. It's not a celebratory event thus, it's a dumb defense. Secondly, even though some of you may talk about me and my planner addiction (*cough cough* Erica) it shows that claiming your memories of them can stand up in court--just saying. Third, I never have understood the logic of committing a crime and then running for a public office. Perhaps it's the arrogance but my guilt would definitely hold me back. As the age old cliche goes, whatever happens in the dark comes to light and we see this time and time again.
In other news, over the weekend I checked out the new Netflix Documentary, Quincy. The documentary is as the title alludes to, on the icon, legend and treasure that is Quincy Jones and to say I was moved by it would be an understatement. I literally called my mom in tears after watching the movie--why, perhaps hormones, not sure, but it's a beautiful documentary. Quincy's daughter Rashida Jones produced the documentary (did you know she had a baby last month) and it showed his extensive history, his current life and his current health obstacles. Very god, definitely recommend watching.
Since I mentioned the Quincy Jones documentary, it's only fitting that this week's newsletter follows suit. This is the official documentary that goes along with the documentary from his team and it has some jams. I hate to be that person to say it's good but it should've included but, I have to do it. Although great, the ultimate Quincy joints didn't make it on here like "The Secret Garden (Sweet Seduction Suite)" with Barry White, Al B Sure!, James Ingram and El Debarge, as well as Tamia "You Put a Move On My Heart."

In hopes to keep my budget together, I only allow myself to buy two books per month. Since I am being selective with what I'm reading, I am always asking for book suggestions or reading descriptions on some books that I should read. This article has some pretty legit books, however, here are the books I am hoping to read this Fall.
"If I’m here for a short period of time, I’m gonna enjoy the sunset. Enjoy looking at someone in the eye and recognizing a facial expression. Enjoy being moved to tears. That’s a beautiful thing." - Rosario Dawson
