This week's newsletter is going to be pretty mellow. I really want to write about Mac Miller, and how I am so sad about his passing, but for whatever reason, I can't really figure out where to start or what to write. Instead, I want to share a few things that made me happy this week--first on that list, is my new curated playlist: Fall Mood. In great Erin fashion, it's a lot of greatness, and it's my playlist that I actually listen to every single day, so I will consistently make sure that it's updated. The playlist features some of my favorites like Hablot Brown, Honne, Sasha Keable and more. Listen to the playlist here.
I also had the opportunity to get an advanced copy of the forthcoming book from one of my idols, Beth Comstock. When I think of the phrase, Girlboss or a Badass Woman (besides Serena William's Instyle Cover) Beth is one of the people at the top of that list. She has such an impressive resume--working with CBS, NBC and GE and with her new book, Imagine It Forward, that will be out September 18th she crafted a career autobiography almost, and it's definitely worth a read. With that being said, I wanted to highlight a few of my favorite quotes/takeaways from the book in hopes that you will be swayed to get the book. I will only do five takeaways because I can get carried away.
(1) Learn to trust your doubts (2) Get used to living in the in-between. Rapid, emerging-changes in the hallmark of our era. The old is going away and the new in emerging, at once. (3) You don't just live life; you blunder your way toward creating one you love. (4) We can't make uncertainty go away. But we can change the way we react to it. Every uncertainty is a new potential future. (5) If you're looking to start a family but curious when the best time is, Beth says you need to just start planning, it's never going to be a perfect time.
